Let's talk about how to wear Spouti™
If you have purchased your own Spouti™ then you have received a small diagram demonstrating how to assemble Spouti™. Now it's time to talk about how to put Spouti™ on!
Spouti™ is designed to gently surround your urethra, but finding your urethra can take a minute so I suggest taking a moment to check it out in front of the mirror. Place Spouti™ over the urethra so it is roughly in the middle of the cup. Gently push any skin to the sides allowing it to wrap around the body.
Once you think Spouti™ is in place it is recommended to do a test to ensure that you are not too far forward or backwards
If you notice shuddering or shaking during heavier streams go ahead and remove Spouti™, dry off any wetness, and reseat it.
Ultimate rule of thumb: If it feels like Spouti™ is placed incorrectly it probably is. If you are not certain of the placement, take it off, place it, then give it a test.
You may wear Spouti™ for as long as you like, but we recommend that you take it out at night. Spouti™ sits in a tender area of your body and restricts airflow. Let things air out!
We are currently working on tube coatings that reduce sticking and friction, however at this time Spouti™ is best worn with underwear that holds the tubing close to the body rather than boxers or briefs that hold the tube facing down the leg!
Avoid Pee Drips
Filling an empty tube with liquid results in a partial vacuum. This will cause some urine to get trapped in the tube and later slip out!
To avoid this, you will need to make sure you clear the tube completely when you are done. Squeezing your thighs together while also squeezing the tube helps push the remaining liquid out.
Finally, give it a couple of shakes to clear any remaining droplets.
If you are going to the restroom and sit down to take care of "other business" you can take that time to pull Spouti™ out, wipe off any sweat or other fluids, and re-seat it. But beware! If you leave Spouti™ in place while using the restroom, make sure to position the tube facing downwards or you might be in for a surprise!
Take the time to properly clear the tube! Any droplets left in the tube will recombine and slip backwards into Spouti™ which will cause irritation sending you back to the restroom to empty the tube.
It is much better to take a couple of extra seconds to ensure you got all the urine out than to have to run to the bathroom 10 minutes later to do it again!
This is also better hygiene and who doesn't love that?!
You MUST be certain that Spouti™ is clean before you put it on. Even though Spouti™ is made with food safe, non-reactive silicone it MUST be cleaned regularly, the same way you would clean any other object that comes into regular contact with bodily fluids. Spouti™ lives in, on, and around an extremely sensitive area so take extra care to ensure it stays clean! When you take Spouti™ off you will want to rinse it with warm water. Antibacterial soap is recommended. Ensure that all surfaces are fully lathered and fully rinsed.
My Spouti, LLC is not responsible for consequences caused by poor cleaning habits. If you do not clean Spouti™ thoroughly before each use, please be aware that you do so at your own risk.
