A reminder from a previous post: Achieve the Perfect Seal – Successful Spouti™ Placement

  • Make sure you are completely dry before placement

  • Make sure you are standing with your legs together

  • Make sure the Spouti™ tab is resting underneath the clitoris

You’ve done it. You found your urethra, you’ve gotten Spouti™ centered, you have the best STP experience ever, but there is so much urine in the tube.

So you reach out to the good folks at My Spouti, LLC and ask:

How the heck do I clear this tubing??

When urine fills the tube it creates a vacuum that will need to be broken. The first trick is to try and point the tubing down far enough that the tip is lower than the Spouti™ – this helps make a syphon.

When you are done going, you will want to squeeze your thighs/buttocks just out of sync with squeezing the tubing, like “squeeze thighs, squeeze tube,

squeeze thighs, squeeze tube” – this creates pressure in the tubing and pushes the urine out, at some point you might notice the vaccume break loose and a little squirt of urine fly out of the tube – Be sure to be aiming down!!!

This syncopated squeezing will get out the majority of the urine, but chances are there is still a little bit left hanging around. To clear these last drips, you want to lift the tubing upwards and then firmly swing it down – it takes a little practice to get a good swing without splashing little droplets all over the back of a toilet seat – but this motion seriously helps get out any stubborn droplets.

We find that it also helps to reach down and give a little push on the tubing right at the Spouti™ – because of angles it has a slump in that section and giving it a press lifts the urine over that slump so it can slip out the rest of the tubing.

You will develop your own routine for clearing the tube – but do yourself a favor and take the extra time to make sure you have cleared the tube, or you will get avoid pee drips! If those drips end up running down your leg, or making a dark spot on your pants you will 100% kick yourself for not taking those couple extra moments to clear the tubing!

Don’t forget to give your Spouti™ a quick wash at the end of the day and always do a thorough scrub before placement! Spouti™ lives in a sensitive location so make sure to take good care of your health!

As always – if you have any questions, or need any advice, reach out to us through our email or any of our social media platforms. Achieve the Perfect Seal – Split Tab Modification Instructions

Now it's time to get down to business!

Finding your urethra isn’t intuitive, so we’ve pulled together our experiences from the last two years to help get you peeing like a pro. This is a part two of a series so stay tuned!

A reminder from our previous post: Successful Spouti™ Placement – Achieve the Perfect Seal Pt. 1

  • Make sure you are completely dry before placement

  • Make sure you are standing with your legs together

  • Make sure the Spouti™ tab is resting underneath the clitoris

  • Be sure to tuck in your Spouti™ far enough that it isn’t putting pressure on your urethra

You’ve done it. You found your urethra, you’ve gotten Spouti™ centered, you were certain this was it – but you still sprung a leak.

You might be muttering “What the heck is going on??”  So you reach out to the good folks at My Spouti, LLC and we ask you a few questions.

Today we’ll discuss one of the most common questions:

Do you have a bit too much junk in the trunk?

Spouti™ was meant to rest below the clitoris. (See the note above? ^^) If you notice that the tab is resting on top of your bits and not below them, then you’ll need to make a very simple modification. “How come?” Glad you asked!

We worked diligently during manufacturing to ensure that Spouti™ was flexible enough so to comfortably wear while sitting. The original plan was to take a big chunk out of the tab to make this happen. We quickly realized that doing so would make Spouti™ look like a pair of needle nose pliers. Let’s be honest – no one wants to put something that looks like pliers down by the sensitive bits!

So we went with the triangle shaped cutout to achieve that comfortable flex. However, because everyone is molded differently this means that some people are going to need a smaller tab.  Taking a small pair of scissors to the tip of the triangle opens that tab right up and gives you the room you need to wear Spouti™ without mushing your bits!

“So…. How do I make this modification exactly?” Don’t worry it’s super easy to do – just take a pair of scissors to the tip of the triangle and snip that tip so it looks like this:

This opens the tab to give you more room for your junk – Please take your time and cut it smoothly. Silicone is surprisingly sharp against skin when it has harsh edges!
Do NOT trim off the “prongs” that form when you open the tab. These keep Spouti™ in place <3

Once you get that little modification out of the way give your Spouti™ a quick wash and go ahead and try out your placement. You should see a dramatic improvement in comfort and seal!

Placing Spouti™ correctly hinges on being able to locate your urethra to the point where you can put your finger on it. If you feel right above the opening to the vaginal canal – right before it “drops off” – you should notice the urethra. It sort of feels like a little donut shaped hole.

Once you can poke yourself in your own urethra (LOL) keep your finger over it. With your finger still on your urethra, center Spouti™ over your finger. You may need to push the edge deeper into the opening in order to get the actual center of the cup over your urethra.

I tend to recommend that people do this laying down the first few times because it really helps open everything up.

Depending on how far back your urethra is, you may notice the rim of the cup might kind of wrap around the “edge” where the “drop off” is. Once you get Spouti™ over your finger you will likely need to push out the edges of the cup to ensure  the cup isn’t squished in on itself.

From here you should begin a test pee. If you see any leaks adjust Spouti™ forward or backwards to ensure that your urethra is fully encompassed by the cup.
